Teaching Interests

As a nurse educator, I promote holistic, patient centered care while fostering diversity, integrity, and evidence based practice. Guided by Mezirow’s Transformational Learning Theory, I strive to inspire reflection, creativity, and purposeful application of knowledge beyond the classroom. My pedagogy emphasizes equipping adult learners with the skills to address health disparities, advance equity, and improve community well being, reflecting the core nursing value of supporting the health of others both academically and clinically.

Research and Scholarship Interests

My scholarship focuses on promoting equity in community health nursing through research, publication, and doctoral study. I have published in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing on the Impact of Housing, Food, and Transportation Insecurities, emphasizing the role of social determinants of health in shaping patient outcomes and access to care. This work reflects my commitment to integrating a palliative care and community health approach to reduce disparities and strengthen family and patient support systems. Currently, as a Doctor of Nursing Practice student in Population Health and Systems Leadership, I am expanding this scholarship to explore innovative, systems level strategies that promote health equity, improve community wellbeing, and inform evidence-based nursing education.
