Research and Scholarship Interests

Yi is a nursing educator and academic leader with over thirty years of experience as a critical care nurse and fifteen years in healthcare administration. She has taught across multiple nursing programs and contributed to curriculum development, academic quality improvement, and leadership in nursing program development. Yi’s instructional expertise includes directing simulation-based education across specialties, as well as teaching pathophysiology, pharmacology, acute and critical care, global and public health, and health science and humanities. Recognized for excellence in teaching in various programs, she is dedicated to advancing nursing higher education through faculty professional development, quality improvement, academic innovation, and leadership advancement.
Yi is a DNP scholar at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), focusing on Executive Leadership. She also holds a Master of Nursing in Leadership and Education from the University of Washington Bothell and a Master of Arts in educational leadership and development. Her scholarly work centers on evidence based, inclusive teaching practices and faculty development in simulation-based education. Yi is actively engaged in national voluntary service and holds professional memberships with organizations such as the Northwest Organization of Nurse Leaders, FEMA/Medical Reserve Corps, National League for Nursing, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
