Teaching Interests
Dr. Record is a population health nurse who enjoys engaging students in the following areas of nursing:
- Community Health Nursing
- Social justice and health equity
- Healthcare systems and policies
- Health Literacy
- Quality Improvement
- Infection Prevention & Control
Dr. Record designs her courses with various teaching modalities to ensure an accessible learning environment. In the classroom, she focuses on knowledge building, reflective practices, and incorporating student life experiences.
Research and Scholarship Interests
Dr. Record graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Population Health Nursing from the University of Washington School of Nursing. She is experienced in community and population health nursing, public health, acute care, long-term care, care coordination, infection prevention, and trauma-informed care, in addition to her latest role as a nursing educator. In addition to her lecturer role with the UW Bothell Nursing and Health Studies, she is also a community health clinical instructor for the UW School of Nursing. Dr. Record is especially interested in student and staff development and building community partnerships.
