CoSEE Community Member Highlight
Hadley Masiel, Landscape Designer
This year, CoSEE has been thrilled to partner with the Yard by Yard project, led by Dr. Lynne Robins and funded by the King County WaterWorks program. We have been grateful for the support of local landscape designer, Hadley Masiel, who has designed all of the plant palettes and planting guides for each of the Yard by Yard properties. Hadley has a small design company, Nurse Log Landscapes, with her business partner Hannah. They offer garden consultations, design, help with the nursery procurement process, plant staging, and construction management. They specialize in ecological planting design, lawn conversion planning, edible and herbal landscapes, natural play gardens, and outdoor living space design, and are one of the few landscape designer teams to work with homeowners at many levels of landscape planning and design. You can reach Hadley and Hannah at 530.219.4878 (be sure to leave a message!) or email at nurselog.landscapes@gmail.com.
Here is some of the work Hadley has done for the Yard by Yard project to date:

Recap & February Highlights
Trip to the UW Planetarium
CoSEE hosted a trip to the UW Planetarium on February 20th operated by the UW Astronomy Department! The UW Planetarium hosts one of the largest free public planetarium programs in Seattle. Participants had the pleasure of this one-of-a-kind experience, run by passionate astronomy students from the University of Washington!

Volunteer Work Party at Saint Edward State Park
Volunteers helped to remove invasive species such as English ivy and Himalayan blackberry to support native habitat restoration on February 21! This was an awesome day for hands-on ecological stewardship and really creating an impact, however small, in Saint Edwards State Park. We thank all who attended, and we look forward to seeing folks next month as well!
