Bio: As an artist and environmental advocate, I’m blending my passion for art with my commitment to raising awareness about the environment.

Ben Lock

Major: Political Science and Environmental Studies
Minor: Gender Women Sexuality Studies
Bio: During my time at UW, I have had a deep interest in environmental policy, science communication, and increasing accessibility to the outdoors. Along with my studies, I am an avid rock climber, running the Climbing Team at UW and I enjoy going on long walks, especially during dawn or dusk.

Bio: I was born in raised in the Bay Area, California in which I developed a deep connection to my natural environment. I spent my hours exploring the redwood forests and cliffy shores of Northern California. This connection to and interest in the planet is what moved me to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies which has been an incredible experience. In addition to my earthly interests, I am an avid yogi and music enthusiast!

Bio: I am passionate about environmental education and working to make the future a better place for the children around us. During the school year I work as a preschool teacher and over the summers I teach outdoor skills with the Wilderness Awareness School at parks around the greater Seattle area, including St. Eds!

Bio: I’ve grown up in Washington state and currently live in Seattle with my two cats. In my free time I enjoy reading, running and hiking. I have a passion for nature and strongly believe in sustainability, environmental education and environmental protection.

Janelle Adsuara

Bio: I’m originally from the SF Bay Area and grew up surrounded by both urban and natural environments, which is what has inspired me to pursue a career that aims to bridge the gap between humans and nature. In my free time you’ll often find me bouldering, cooking, or doing some sort of craft.

Bio: I’m interested in the intersection of sustainability, technology, and community impact, and I’m passionate about finding ways to share ideas and information in engaging and accessible ways. Outside of school, I love cooking, baking, going to the gym, and practicing Pilates.

Bio: I spent my formative years exploring the outback of sunny Florida. That led me to understand the importance of learning about nature in nature. I am passionate about preserving our natural world and building reciprocal and harmonious relationships with it. In my free time, I love spending time with my two cats and doing different types of DIY projects.

I have always had a connection and appreciation for the outdoors – hiking, tide pooling, birdwatching, rock collecting and much more – and the more I learn the more I there is to find!

Benton Kellogg
Major: Conservation and Restoration Science
Bio: Benton is a senior in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW Bothell. They are majoring in Conservation and Restoration Science, and they have been happy to have so many opportunities to study ecology and get experience working with professors. They have experience in field work and environmental education, and they enjoy birdwatching and wildlife photography in their free time.

Bio: Hi! I’m Tho Hoang Dong Trinh, or you can call me Tina. I love exploring the natural world and getting involved in hands-on environmental projects. Outside of school, I enjoy taking nature walks, trying new foods, and snapping photos of cool plants and animals. I’m always curious and up for an adventure, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing through new experiences.
