Climate Science, Policy, and the Power of Interdisciplinary Thinking

  • Description: Explore how climate change is shaping the Puget Sound and how interdisciplinary approaches can inform real-world solutions. Join IAS faculty for a conversation connecting climate science, environmental justice, and the role of data in policy and decision-making. This session is designed for students interested in environmental issues, public policy, global systems, or data storytelling, and will highlight pathways for applying these interests beyond the classroom.

  • Description: Join us for 90-minute drop-in sessions designed to support you as you work on your personal statement before the deadline. Each session begins with a brief (about 30 minutes) panel-style discussion covering key elements of strong personal statements, followed by independent writing time with Writing Center tutors available for one-on-one help. We can help with all kinds of personal statements: UWB-majors, graduate or professional school, scholarships, internships, jobs, or other opportunities. Tutors from a variety of majors, including STEM, will be on hand to answer questions and offer feedback. Open to all students, undergraduate and graduate.   • This event showcases Rachael Moss, Chief People Officer of Inventprise, who will speak about “Growth Mindset in the Ever-Changing Biotech Space.” Rachael Moss is the Chief People Officer for Inventprise, a biotechnology company in Redmond focused on developing and producing vaccines empowering the people to live healthier lives. She will reflect on a wealth of human resources experiences spanning multiple domains and industries and engage students in an interactive session, where they will learn how tapping into a growth mindset opens possibilities to learning new skills while navigating change and ambiguity throughout career experiences. A.I. and the Future of Business: Marketing Industry
