New Staff Orientations

Benefits & New Staff Orientations

Benefits orientation

UW Seattle hosts the orientation, which is held every other Monday by the Benefits Consultants for all UW employees. OEHR recommends all new employees to attend this event in order to make the appropriate benefits selections for themselves. The orientation is scheduled by the new employee once they have a NetID. New employees can sign up for a Benefits Orientation here.

Forms and other information can be accessed at the Health Care Authority Public Employee Benefits Board.

New staff orientation

New Staff Orientation regarding the Bothell Campus is usually the 4th Wednesday of the month. Once you have your UW email, please email OE/HR at uwboehr@uw.edu and we will send you an email invite once the Orientation has been confirmed.

Orientation is required for all new staff and includes policies and procedures that are specific to the Bothell campus, key UW policies, and a brief Benefits Orientation (different from the orientation mentioned above). Presenters include various UW Bothell departments such as Information Technologies, Security & Public Safety, and the Library.

New staff will obtain information about their email and MyUW accounts, how to have a safe working environment, what to do in case of an emergency, and their responsibilities as a state employee. New staff will also learn about UW Bothell culture, professional development opportunities, and amenities available to them.
