UW Law School Professor Anita K. Krug named UW Bothell interim vice chancellor for academic affairs

BOTHELL, Washington — University of Washington Bothell Chancellor Wolf Yeigh has announced Anita K. Krug as the interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, effective Aug. 15.

Krug will fill the position of chief academic officer for UW Bothell during a search for a permanent vice chancellor for academic affairs.

Krug is the D. Wayne and Anne Gittinger Professor of Law at the University of Washington School of Law. A member of the faculty since 2010, she served as the interim Toni Rembe Dean of the School of Law in 2017-18 and as the law school’s associate dean for research and faculty development from 2014 to 2016.

Yeigh has worked with Krug on the UW Board of Deans and Chancellors and on the steering committee of UW 2050. “I am excited that she will bring yet another diverse viewpoint to our campus leadership team in this time of transition,” Yeigh said.

A UW Bothell search committee co-chaired by Gowri Shankar, business professor, and Phil Akers, Vice Chancellor of Advancement and External Relations, has been gathering background materials in advance of the search beginning this fall. Susan Jeffords, the former vice chancellor for academic affairs, accepted the position of provost at Portland State University.
