Veterans Archway

Week of May 20

  • Installation of concrete columns.
  • Placement of seating boulders.
  • Perimeter landscape installation.

…The Veteran’s Archway will represent not only the sacrifices we continue to ask of our service people, but also the transition our veterans make from the military to academia, and the journey we all strive to make together…

Concept

Veterans have made unrivaled sacrifices for our community and our country, this archway is our way to show our appreciation for their service in a permanent monument. This reflective space will bring together our community both on and off the campus in a space created for reflection of veteran’s service to our country.

Goals

This archway is a place where veterans from around the area can reengage with the university and the community. The archway will be constructed to show our respect for their service and invite them to share their experiences. It is our hope that this space will create dialogue on local and global policy issues.

Cost

The Veterans Archway is anticipated to cost just under $60,000. This project will be 100% paid for by donations and no state or university money will be used. The archway is a gift to the university and our community by generous contributors and has been organized and planned by the UW Bothell Student Veteran’s Association.

If you would like to get involved with the development of the Veterans Archway or are interested in making a contribution please contact, Benjamin Wiselogle Veterans Archway Fund Chair or Derek Lane, President, Student Veterans Association.
