Announcing UW Bothell’s 2013-2014 Founders Fellows

Students at the University of Washington Bothell consistently display a high level of commitment to their academic pursuits, and frequently go on to greater achievements in academic and professional fields. It was in the spirit of fostering this type of ambition and work ethic that the Founders Fellowship was created.

“While our students have a good track record of being awarded for their academic and creative achievements, we are especially excited to have our own way of supporting our students,” explains Carolyn Brennan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research.

Clarrie Ng, University of Washington Bothell graduate and former Founders Fellowship awardee says the support went a long way, “The Founders Fellowship has allowed me to explore much more depth into my research,” she says. “It was also the recognition and trust given to me that allowed me to continue pursuing my research in graduate school.”

The fully vested endowment provides undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in independent research across disciplines. The Founders Fellowship lives on, enabling students to participate in academic inquiry, enhance the reputation of the university, contribute to our region’s economic vitality, and become better leaders and global citizens. The financial support is intended to allow students to focus more attention and time on their research, scholarship and creative activities.
