Hello 2019 UW Bothell 5K participants!

Here’s all the info you need for the 14th Annual UW Bothell Husky 5K on Saturday, May 18th! The UW Bothell Alumni Council proudly hosts the event, and all proceeds go directly to student scholarships.

EARLY PACKET PICKUP – Friday, May 17th

If you registered online before May 15, your race packet (including shirt, bib, and timing chip) will be available for early pickup to avoid race day lines. Please visit UW Bothell Campus in the uppermost southwest surface parking lot (near NE 180th ST & 110th AVE NE) between 10:00a.m. and 6:00p.m.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS:

UW Bothell’s address is 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell, 98011. Please note that our event will occur on the campus Promenade. FREE Parking is available in the south parking garage. The north parking garage will be closed due to race activity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I registered for the run, but would like to walk instead (or vice versa). How can I update this?

A: No registration update is necessary! Feel free to run/walk/jog the route.

Q: My friend hasn’t registered yet, but wants to participate. Is it too late?

A: We welcome new participants! Day-of registration opens at 8:00am on the Promenade near the UW Bothell “W”. Cash, check, and credit card are all accepted.

Q: Can I bring my stroller on the course?

A: As a family friendly event, strollers are welcome. For safety reasons, we ask that those with strollers begin the race near the end of the lineup.

Q: Can I bring Fido to the event?

A: Well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs are welcome to the event, but must remain leashed at all times. Please be courteous and pick up after your pet. Huskies are especially welcome!

Q: Will gear check be provided?

A: Gear check is located in front of Discovery Hall , along the Promenade; it opens at 8:00am and closes at 12:30 pm. We recommend bringing a storage bag with you. DO NOT leave valuables, cash or jewelry in your gear bag. The event is not responsible for any lost items. Unclaimed items will be held in the Office of Advancement; contact 425-352-3614 with questions or concerns.

Q: Where are the restrooms located?

A: Each building (CC1, CC2, North Creek Events Center, UW1, Discovery Hall, and UW2) will be open with available restrooms on each floor. Signage will provide directions.

Q: Will there be a water stop on the course?

A: One water stop will be provided approximately mid-way through the race.

Q: Where is the medical tent?

A: Basic medical services will be provided near the start/finish line. For emergencies, 911 will be called on-site.

Q: What if I get separated from my children?

A: Lost children should be directed to the gear check, in front on Discovery Hall along the Promenade. Be sure to tell your children ahead of the event, in case of separation.

Q: What is the silent auction?

A: Fantastic gift baskets are available for bidding, and the proceeds go directly to the UW Bothell Alumni Scholarship fund. Items include Husky Tailgating essentials, gift certificates to a variety of delicious restaurants, time in-studio with Dave “Softy” Mahler and Mike Holmgren, golfing with Softy, and even passes to Seafair!

Q: What family activities are included on event day?

A: Cascadia Community College is presenting the Pups and Cubs 1K for children 12 and under, along with the Little Huskies Dash for 4 and under. Children register for the entire 5K event for free through May 17; day-of registration is $5. Also, we’ll have a bouncy house, face painting and carnival field games, all included in the price of 5K registration.

Q: What is included in the post-race breakfast?

A: Everything a hungry athlete could ask for! Hot breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, milk, and more. Please be courteous as the post-race breakfast is reserved for participants only.

Q: Where can I find the results and awards?

A: Results are available immediately at the Rogue chip timing booth; results will be posted to the UWB 5K page and Facebook page by Sunday, May 16. Participants will be charged $30 for unreturned timing chips. Awards will be announced for the top three male and top three female finishers. Age group category winners will be recognized at the Awards Booth.

Q: Where can I find event day photos?

A: A staff photographer will be on site to take event and race photos. They will be available on the Husky 5K website and Facebook pages the week following the race. We encourage you to post your own photos of the event, on our Facebook page – and don’t forget to tag yourself and your family/friends!
