Admission Information for UW Bothell Students

Current UW Bothell students may be accepted into the Physics major in their sophomore year. For acceptance into the major, students must have completed each of the prerequisite courses with a 2.0 minimum grade and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. An average GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. At the time of declaration of the Physics major, students should indicate which degree/option they are intending to pursue: BS in Physics or BA in Physics.

The admission requirements are the same for both the Physics BS and Physics BA degrees. Admission is competitive and completion of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Transfer students applying to UW Bothell who have completed more than 40 credits may apply directly to the Physics major if they have completed all of the prerequisite courses. For information on prerequisites and equivalencies, UW area of knowledge (general education) requirements, and how to be a competitive applicant, see the Physics Planning Worksheet for Transfers. This worksheet can help you plan your course of study prior to transferring to UW Bothell.

The transfer applicant should have completed each prerequisite course with a 2.0 minimum grade. At the time of application, students should indicate which degree/option they are intending to pursue: BS in Physics or BA in Physics.
