University of Washington Bothell

Academic Affairs

The UW Bothell leading-edge educational experience is founded on three distinctive practices:

Cross-disciplinary practices refer to the research and teaching that cuts across disciplinary boundaries. Our faculty and staff leverage cross-unit collaborations to produce powerful partnerships that embrace multiple perspectives and enliven 21st century solutions

Connected Learning

Connected learning invests in high impact relationships that contribute to innovative and influential teaching, learning, and research. Connected learning inspires and supports human social networks such as learning communities, teaching circles, and research clusters.

Community Engagement

Community engagement helps us move creativity to action.  A continual collaboration of people and ideas between campus and community (local, regional/state, national, global) reinforce and define our distinctive campus culture and experience.

The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) creates and administers a structure in which steps can be taken to execute our university’s mission and vision. In these efforts, we oversee the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures, and we coordinate academic programs, administration and organizational structures.

Although we are dedicated to strengthening the academic experience for the entire UW Bothell community, this site is intended primarily for faculty and staff engaged in teaching and learning, academic programs, research and scholarship, as well as faculty hiring, promotion and development.

We are deeply engaged in developing a strong yet flexible infrastructure that will support a wide range of scholarly activities and community partnerships. We work hard to strengthen connections among UW Bothell's academic schools and programs, as well as between the campus, other educational institutions, organizations and the greater community.
