Request access

Kentico directory access

New and current content editors who need access to a directory need the permission of the directory’s primary publisher. Currently the UW Bothell Advancement & External Relations web team assigns roles to accounts after receiving permission from the respective primary publisher and after new content editors have completed the introductory Kentico training.

Prerequisites

You must meet the following requirements to gain access to edit uwb.edu:

  • Be an employee of the University of Washington Bothell
  • Be approved by the organization's Primary Publisher to post content (primary publisher list by directory)
  • Must have a UWB Access Account (UWBID) - this account request is submitted th employee's supervisor.
    • This is different from a UW NetID or email account. See Requesting a UWBID for more information.

Requesting access

Here are the typical steps for gaining content editor access. Contact uwbadv@uw.edu with questions.

  1. With their supervisor's approval, the interested employee contacts the directory's primary publisher. Find all directories and their primary publisher here.
  2. Primary Publishers can request access for the interested employee by sending the information outlined on the Kentico Access Request page to uwbadv@uw.edu. Learn more about requesting Kentico access.
  3. While the primary publisher is doing that, the supervisor of the employee needs to contact UW Bothell IT to request a new "UW Bothell Access Account." This only creates an account but does not grant Kentico access yet; access is given via "roles" that the Web Team assigns after the intro editor training.
  4. Once the account is created, the interested employee may sign up for an introductory editor-level training with the web support specialist A.K.A. Kentico trainer Ashley Magdall.
  5. After completing the training, the trainer assigns the designated roles to the trainees within two business days.
  6. They can enroll in the publisher-level training (coming soon) after completing the editor-level training. Student-staff cannot be granted publisher level access.
