B.A. Gender and Sexuality Studies, University of Nevada, Las Vegas

I spent a lot of my undergraduate years resentfully writing essays late at night in my bedroom. I want to flip the script on that and instead see my writing as something that exists to benefit me. It’s very convenient that I get to be a professional idea bounce-offer because I love a good brainstorming. If I couldn't make bullet point lists, I couldn’t get it together to leave my house in the morning. There’s a lot of potential when you’re just scribbling down every stray thought. I have a very loose process when it comes to writing but I always try to create a bit of scaffolding. If you need someone to talk out your assignment with, I’m your gal.

I’ve just started my second year as a graduate student in Cultural Studies at UW Bothell. I don’t know what I’m doing and it’s fine. Before coming to Bothell, I spent the last two years visiting schools in Las Vegas to teach teenagers about sexual violence prevention. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016 with a BA in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Outside of academics, I’m enjoying my time in Seattle and all the new greenery. I spend my free time traveling, reading comix, social dancing, gardening, painting, and spending far more time on my phone than I’d ever admit.
