The style of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), or IEEE style, encloses citation numbers within square brackets and numbers them consecutively, with numbers repeated throughout the text as needed.
In formal ENG reports, you will need to cite your sources twice:
- Once in your text as a number in square brackets.
- Again in a list of numbered sources in your Reference List or Bibliography
Reference List or Bibliography
In keeping with the Number System, your sources are numbered and listed in the order in which they appear in your assignment.
Present your sources in two sections:
Works Cited - list sources that you have cited in your report or assignment.
Other Sources - list sources that are NOT cited in your report but which you may have used to find background information
