The University Disciplinary Committee (UDC) is comprised of a nonvoting chair, at least three voting faculty members, and at least three voting student members. The Chair is appointed for a term of one year, but may be reappointed for consecutive terms. The three voting faculty members and three voting student members are selected at random to serve a one-year term. Student members may not be reappointed for consecutive terms. All UDC members participate in a short training to prepare for the commitment. All terms begin on the first day of autumn quarter.
Responsibilities include hearing 1) alleged conduct code violations, and 2) appeals requested following an informal hearing. The time commitment typically does not exceed one hearing per month throughout the academic year.
Faculty and students who would like to serve on the UDC committee should contact the Student Conduct Office who works with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to identify and appoint members annually.
For specific information visit Student Conduct Code WAC 478-120-085 for specific operating procedures and WAC 478-120-095 for specific hearing information.
