How to Email your Professor

Good email etiquette is important when emailing your professor. Ensuring you write in a polite and concise way will not only increase the chances of your professor's response, but also help create a positive relationship with your professor.

Please Note: The Emiail Etiquette template referenced in the video is below

Easy-to-follow tips & tricks:

  • Use your student email account (otherwise your personal email address may be automatically filtered out).
  • Be polite.
  • Double check your email for errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation before you press send.
  • Be concise; professors go through hundreds of emails per day. They will appreciate that you considered their time.
