Good email etiquette is important when emailing your professor. Ensuring you write in a polite and concise way will not only increase the chances of your professor's response, but also help create a positive relationship with your professor.

Easy-to-follow tips & tricks:
Use your student email account (otherwise your personal email address may be automatically filtered out).
Double check your email for errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation before you press send.
Be concise; professors go through hundreds of emails per day. They will appreciate that you considered their time.
Here is a template to get started:

SUBJECT: [class section and name]: [email purpose]
Dear Professor ____________[last name],
I hope you had a relaxing weekend. [start with polite greeting]
I am in your __________[class name]. I want to ask if you can help me solve this problem, ____________. I’ve checked in the syllabus, notes and with my classmates and I think the answer is______________but I am not sure. I appreciate the clarification.
