Merit Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards, located in the Student Success Center, promotes competitive, merit-based scholarship opportunities on the Bothell campus and mentors qualified students through the application process.
Working in close collaboration with Financial Aid, the Career Center, Undergraduate Research, First Year and Pre-Major, and the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards on the Seattle campus, we offer general scholarship information sessions and conduct one-on-one advising with students applying for competitive, merit-based awards.
My experiences in the Student Success Center led me to gain confidence in applying for funding. As a first generation college student, I didn’t know how to navigate finding money for school outside of FAFSA. When I met with advisors I was encouraged to apply to specialized scholarships that related to what I was already doing and was successful in receiving the Mary Gates Research Scholarship. It took the weight off of my shoulders and allowed me to spend more time on my studies."

Are merit scholarships for me?
Merit scholarships, fellowships and awards invest in your future potential based on your past accomplishments. They are granted on the basis of your academic performance and extracurricular achievements, and can include funding for college tuition and fees, study abroad, summer internships, and post-graduate research or travel. If you are a strong student with a GPA of 3.3 or higher, are actively engaged on- and off-campus, and have the ambition to do great things in life, consider merit scholarships to help you reach your goals!
