Larger conveyance vehicles are especially susceptible to attack and have the potential for doing the most damage to people and surroundings in an accident of any type. The accident reconstruction and analysis in the current program aim to examine mechanical issues due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n\t\tDerailment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n\t\tPlastic deformation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n\t\tRupture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n\t\tInitial impact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n\t\tPotential catastrophic failures (natural and manmade)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\n\tModeling and Simulations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\tNanofluids, Finite Element Method (FEM), Boundary Element Method (BEM), Stochastic Simulations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\n\tNanofluid Simulations by Boundary Element<br>\n\tMethod (PI: Wolf Yeigh)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\tWith the advancement of semiconductor device technology, there comes an increasing demand for cooling. Efficient cooling is difficult. Low thermal conductivity of working fluids such as water, oil or ethylene glycol led to the introduction of nanofluids, which represent a novel approach to cooling.
