Once admitted, transfer applicants must also submit up-to-date&nbsp;<strong>official<\/strong>&nbsp;transcripts with their final grades if they have not already.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#statement\">Personal statement<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit an <strong>internal application<\/strong> if you are already a student at UW Bothell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pre-Major student at UW Bothell<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Already in a major at UW Bothell and you want to switch majors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Already in a major at UW Bothell and you want a double major or double degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-dark-gold-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/admissions.uwb.edu\/manage\/login?realm=&amp;r=\/apply\">Submit an internal application<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit a <strong>transfer application<\/strong> if you are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A current student at UW Seattle or UW Tacoma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transferring from another college or university outside of the UW system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-dark-gold-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/admissions\/apply\/transfer\">Submit a transfer application<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Electrical Engineering major is currently a \u201cminimum requirements\u201d program<\/strong> with no set limit on the number of students admitted, so meeting the minimum entry requirements guarantees admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If necessary, your application may be reviewed by a committee of Electrical Engineering faculty. The committee uses a holistic approach when reviewing applications, evaluating each on its individual merit and making decisions on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to admit students who will benefit from the program, contribute to our community of learning, and move on to make positive impacts after graduation. In making its decision, the committee considers the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Completion of prerequisite courses<\/strong>. Applicants should wait to apply to the EE program until after all prerequisite courses are completed, and in progress classes will not be considered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Academic performance<\/strong>, including overall GPA and improvements over time, grades in prerequisites and other relevant courses (such as mathematics and other quantitative areas), and the number of repeated courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal statement<\/strong>, which can highlight:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your specific interest in this program at the University of Washington Bothell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your long-term goals and the steps you have already taken to achieve them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your unique experiences and skills that will help you succeed in the program and beyond.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any challenges or hardships you have faced, and how you approached and learned from them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"prerequisites\">Prerequisite courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum cumulative GPA. <\/strong>You must have a <strong>minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 <\/strong>or higher to be considered for admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum grades. <\/strong>You must complete all of the following courses with the corresponding grades as well as the cumulative grades listed below. The grades must be recorded on your <strong><a href=\"#materials\">unofficial or official transcript(s)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transfer courses. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/stem\/undergraduate\/resources\/stem-transfer-courses\">View a compilation of equivalent courses<\/a><\/strong> at other UW campuses and Washington state colleges, as well as <strong>important notes on transferring courses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The major has the following minimum requirements which must be completed prior to admission:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A minimum grade of 2.3 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/crscatb\/stmath.html#stmath124\">STMATH 124 &#8211; Calculus I<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum grade of 2.3 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/crscatb\/stmath.html#stmath125\">STMATH 125 &#8211; Calculus II<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum grade of 2.3 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/crscatb\/bphys.html#bphys121\">B PHYS 121 &#8211; Mechanics<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum average GPA of 2.6 across STMATH 124 &#8211; Calculus I, STMATH 125 &#8211; Calculus II and B PHYS 121 &#8211; Mechanics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum grade of 2.0 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/crscatb\/bwrit.html#bwrit134\">College-level English Composition course<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"statement\">Personal statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/stem\/personal-statement-guidelines\">Personal Statement Guidelines<\/a><\/strong> page for advice on writing an exceptional personal statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prompt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Personal Statement is an opportunity to introduce yourself to the admissions committee and provides context for the rest of your application. The statement is very personal and belongs to you alone. Write what you feel strongly about and what matters most to you&#8211;not to your friends, parents, or colleagues. In other words, we invite you to distinguish yourself through telling your story. Your statement should be no longer than 650 words and answer both questions below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why are you interested in Electrical Engineering and specifically in UW Bothell&#8217;s program? How did your passion for Electrical Engineering form and what talents\/skills will you bring to our community? In reviewing the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/stem\/faculty\/em-faculty\">Electrical Engineering faculty profiles<\/a><\/strong>, what research areas are you most interested in?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What relevant life experiences have you had (employment, internships, class projects, military service, volunteer work, campus activities, etc.) that will guide you in your anticipated career as an Electrical Engineer?
