Complete applications are reviewed and sent to the admission committee on a rolling basis, beginning early February, and decisions are typically sent 8 weeks after the review process begins. Applicants are encouraged to ensure all application materials are complete and accurate at the time of submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Autumn 2026 application deadlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Priority<\/strong>: February 2, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International<\/strong>: March 2, 2026 &#8211; <em>extended to April 1, 2026<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Domestic<\/strong>: May 1, 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Admission requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission to the Master of Science in Computer Science &amp; Software Engineering program requires applicants to have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or other closely related field from a regionally accredited institution (or an equivalent international degree)* \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Including a <strong>high-level object-oriented programming foundations and skills<\/strong> , <strong>data structures and algorithms<\/strong> and <strong>software engineering<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/stem\/graduate\/mscsse\/admissions\/apply#english\">English language proficiency<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3.0 GPA or equivalent in the last two years of study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*Alternatively, applicants may meet this requirement with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in another field AND completion of the <a href=\"\/stem\/graduate\/gcsdd\">Graduate Certificate in Software Design &amp; Development<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application process &amp; checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants will apply online through the UW Graduate School. There are various components that go into preparing and submitting a complete application.
