Step into the Lab \u2013 Step into your Future. <\/strong>Our five-day immersive summer camps invite advanced high school students to explore anatomy, biomedical devices, immunology, vaccine science, biotechnology, and global health through hands-on, career-connected experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In real lab settings, students build technical skills, sharpen scientific thinking, and strengthen teamwork and communication – while tackling authentic, real-world health challenges. Along the way, they connect with leading voices from local medical centers, biotech companies, and philanthropic organizations, gaining insider perspectives through networking and industry panels. This is more than a camp\u2026it\u2019s a launchpad for your future in science and medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camps run Monday\u2013Friday, 9:00 a.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m., during the week\u2011long program. Classes are hosted in the Discovery Hall building on campus with field trips to local companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BioImpact: From Ideas to Industry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Offered June 22-26 & July 6-10 at University of Washington Bothell, Discovery Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience introduces participants to career-clusters centering on anatomy and how biomedical devices allow for detection and correction of complex medical conditions. Participants will engage in daily labs like dissection, EKG reading, DNA electrophoresis, biomaterials design, medical illustration, and more – helping them build skills and identify areas of interest. Visits to local biotechnology companies, fun bonding challenges, and a young professionals panel is also included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommended for:<\/strong> Students new to biotechnology and interested in exploring potential career and college pathways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BioImpact: ImmuneRx: A Prescription for Innovation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Offered July 13-17<\/strong> at University of Washington Bothell, Discovery Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step into the forefront of modern science in this immersive, career-connected experience exploring immunology and vaccine innovation. Through authentic lab work and real-world applications, students uncover how the immune system detects and eliminates disease, how immune cells and antibodies are engineered to treat cancer, and how cutting-edge vaccines are developed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the lab, participants experience biotechnology in action through visits to local research institutions, engaging directly with the environments where discoveries are made. Along the way, students connect with faculty and industry professionals, gaining insight into undergraduate pathways and the diverse careers shaping the future of the life sciences. This is more than an introduction – it\u2019s an opportunity to see where your interests can take you and begin building your path forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BioImpact: BioPreneurs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

BioPreneurs is a two-part camp designed for high school students interested in biotechnology, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies. Participants will discover how biotech companies bring innovations to life\u2014from developing new therapies and diagnostic tools to creating environmental solutions\u2014while exploring the business, science, and technology behind successful biotechnology startups. Students will also gain firsthand experience with how artificial intelligence and machine learning are shaping the future of biotechnology and healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part 1: Biotechnology Entrepreneurship<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Offered August 24\u201325<\/strong> at University of Washington Bothell, Discovery Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will explore how biotechnology companies transform scientific discoveries into real-world products. Topics will include drug discovery, medical devices, startup formation, and the commercialization of new technologies. Through hands-on activities and interactions with industry professionals, students will learn how innovative ideas move from the laboratory to the marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part 2: AI and Data Science in Biotechnology<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Offered September 19-20 at University of Washington Bothell, Discovery Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will discover how artificial intelligence and data science are transforming biotechnology and healthcare. This session will feature hands-on activities led by industry professionals and will explore how AI and machine learning are accelerating research, improving patient care, and driving the next generation of biotech innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rising 10th, 11th, or 12th graders in high school are invited to register for a 5-day summer camp (must be 15 years old at the start of camp).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

$800 per student (scholarships are available and can be requested on application)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
