Honors and the Dean's List

Academic University and Nursing Honors and the Dean's List

Students in the program are eligible for Faculty Honors through the University, Nursing Honors through the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the University Dean's list.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing

The Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Psi-at-Large chapter recognizes and promotes scholarship and leadership in the profession. Membership to this University of Washington sponsored chapter is by invitation only and based on the academic requirements laid out by STTI each year.

Eligible students receive local chapter Sigma Theta Tau invitations via email late in winter quarter each year from School of Nursing and Health Studies on behalf of STTI. Eligibility is calculated after autumn quarter grades are posted. A spring induction ceremony recognizes eligible members in June. Learn more about STTI and the academic eligibility requirements required to receive nursing honors and an invitation to be inducted into this Honor Society.

University Faculty Honors

Faculty Honors is awarded to nursing students who are earning their first bachelor's degree and ranked in the top 10% of their respective program. Students must earn a minimum of 43 graded credits to be reviewed for Faculty Honors.

The GPAs for faculty honors are determined each year for the following year (Autumn through Summer) by the UW Bothell Registrar's Office, based on statistics for the current year. The GPA cutoffs may be different for each of the degree programs. For further details and the GPA cutoffs, visit the Faculty Honors page of the Registrar's site.

Please Note: Unfortunately the RN to BSN program does not award enough academic credits due to awarding 45 credits by exam for the NCLEX to qualify for University Baccalaureate Honors.

University Dean's List

The Quarterly Dean's List includes the names of matriculated undergraduate students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree and have attained a quarterly GPA of 3.50 in the final grades for at least 12 graded credits. Appropriate entries regarding inclusion on the Dean's List are made on the student's permanent academic record.
