Fitness Center Policies

General Policies

  1. The ARC Fitness Center is available for use by currently enrolled students, faculty and staff of the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College.
  2. Photo identification must be provided upon check-in.
  3. Unauthorized access of the ARC Fitness Center is prohibited.
  4. Day use lockers are available for use by all ARC Fitness Center members.
  5. The ARC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  6. Unidentified items will be reported to campus safety to confiscate.
  7. Closed-toed athletic shoes and a T-shirt, tank-top or alike covering the midsection is required in the ARC Fitness Center.
  8. Clothing with zippers and/or abrasive material that may damage equipment is prohibited.
  9. Only water is permitted in a resealable, non-breakable bottle.
  10. Beverages other than water and food is to be consumed in the lower level lobby.
  11. Limit cell phone conversations when using the ARC Fitness Center.
  12. All participants in the ARC Fitness Center must adhere to guidelines specific to each activity area.
  13. All incidents and/or injuries should be reported to the ARC Fitness Center front desk staff immediately.
  14. All users must comply with the University of Washington Bothell Policy on the Use of University Facilities and the Use of Joint University of Washington, Bothell and Cascadia College Facilities policy.

Locker Room

  1. Day use lockers are available for use by all ARC Fitness Center members.
  2. The ARC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  3. All incidents and/or injuries should be reported to the ARC Fitness Center front desk staff immediately.
  4. Limit the use of cell phone conversations in the ARC Fitness Center locker rooms.
  5. Avoid the use of personal cameras in the ARC Fitness Center locker rooms.
  6. Locker rooms are to be used for their intended purposes only.

Fitness Floor - Strength Equipment Area

  1. Closed-toed athletic shoes and a T-shirt, tank-top or alike covering the midsection is required.
  2. Clothing with zippers and/or abrasive material that may damage equipment is prohibited.
  3. Only water is permitted in a resealable, non-breakable bottle.
  4. Avoid cell phone conversations while on the fitness floor.
  5. Dropping and/or slamming of weights is not permitted.
  6. Walkways on the fitness floor should remain clear of all personal belongings.
  7. Sanitize equipment before and after use.
  8. All equipment should be re-racked after use.
  9. Utilize collars for all barbell lifts.

Fitness Floor - Cardio Equipment Area

  1. Closed-toed athletic shoes and a T-shirt, tank-top or alike covering the midsection is required.
  2. Clothing with zippers and/or abrasive material that may damage equipment is prohibited.
  3. Only water is permitted in a resealed, non-breakable bottle.
  4. Avoid cell phone conversations while utilizing cardio equipment.
  5. All walkways and space between cardio machines should remain clear of personal belongings.
  6. Sanitize equipment before and after use.
  7. During peak hours, limit use of cardio equipment to 30 minutes if members are waiting.

Studio

  1. Closed-toed athletic shoes and a T-shirt, tank-top or alike covering the midsection is required.
  2. Clothing with zippers and/or abrasive material that may damage equipment is prohibited.
  3. Only water is permitted in a resealable, non-breakable bottle.
  4. Avoid cell phone conversations while using the studio.
  5. Sanitize equipment before and after use.
  6. Cardio bikes designated for the studio must remain in the studio.
  7. Avoid interrupting fitness classes or other scheduled activities in progress.
