{"id":18626,"date":"2020-10-02T10:01:56","date_gmt":"2020-10-02T10:01:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/?p=18626"},"modified":"2026-08-18T20:13:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T20:13:25","slug":"petitions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/premajor\/resources\/petitions","title":{"rendered":"Petitions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">105-Credit Petition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Undergraduates must declare a major by the time they have completed five (5) academic quarters (summer quarter is not counted) and earned 105 credits or a hold will be placed on their registration until they either declare a major, or meet with an advisor and receive a Pre-Major extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Repeat Petition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who are taking an (FYPP) course for the third time will need to petition the department to be allowed to repeat a course a third time. This includes (BCORE, BCUSP, BJAPN, BLEAD, BSPAN or BWRIT). If a student attempts to register for a course for the third time the registration system responds with a message that says the course has been previously repeated and the student is not eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer Course Petition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This petition allows students to petition a course from a different institution that did not come in as a Writing (&#8220;W&#8221;) or Composition (&#8220;C&#8221;) course. You must submit a form for each course that is being petitioned and a course syllabus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: Other Transfer Course petitions would go to the department offering the course being petitioned.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*Petitions needing review by another department will be forwarded to the academic advisor for that program.
