First Year and Pre-Major Programs (FYPP)

Peer Advising

What is Peer Advising?

Peer Advisors are students in their last two years of college at UW Bothell who can help pre-major and first year students with drop-in questions. The Peer Advisors are all students who are in their majors, and they are trained to help you with anything from registering for classes to picking out a major.

Face-to-face drop in advising support is suspended due to Summer Break. We will resume Drop in Advising during the beginning of Autumn '20.

Hometown: Lynnwood WA | Major: Computer Science & Software Engineering | Minors: Education & Society; Diversity Studies

Why is Zoe a peer advisor? "When I was a pre-major student, I had faced many personal and academic difficulties that forced me to reconsider and readjust my plans. I was too intimidated to take advantage of all the different resources on campus that could have really helped; sometimes, talking to peers can be a lot less intimidating. As a peer advisor, I look forward to working with other students to develop plans for meeting their educational goals, readjust when necessary, and destigmatize failure."
