Spring 2020


Week 1: Fri, Apr 3 -Submit Part 1 of Capstone Proposal (Research Question, Hypothesis, Literature Review) to Capstone Advisor.  See Capstone Guidelines 
Week 7: Fri, May 15 - Submit complete Capstone Proposal (UWNetID login required); send copy to Capstone Advisor.

Commencement Ceremonies for Class of 2020

Given restrictions on public events due to the coronavirus pandemic, the University will not hold any in-person Commencement Ceremonies or other related graduation activities this June.

Commencement ceremonies for the UW Bothell Class of 2020 will be celebrated concurrent with the Class of 2021 at T-Mobile Park in June 2021.  Class of 2020 graduate students will also be invited to a Hooding Ceremony. Registration will open for Class of 2020 graduates in Autumn 2020.

Important Commencement Dates and Deadlines 

  • April 17: Deadline to submit your name for listing in the commencement program.
  • April 28: Virtual Grad Fair
  • May 1: Virtual ceremony registration opens, custom slide website opens
  • Saturday, June 13: University of Washington will recognize graduates in a university-wide virtual celebration

Week 3: Fri, Apr 17. Capstone Advisors return feedback on Capstone Proposal Part 1 to students and submit approval or revisions necessary for approval to students and Graduate Office.
Week 4: Thurs Apr 23, 1:15-3:15 pm, UW1-361 - MAPS CAWG Meeting
Week 10: Mon, Jun 1 - Capstone Advisors submit the Capstone Proposal Review Form with approval or conditions for approval. Advisor approval is required for students to enroll in BPOLST 515 Capstone.
Week 11: Sat, Jun 13 - Graduate Hooding Ceremony, UW Bothell campus
Week 12: Sun, Jun 14 - Commencement Ceremony, Safeco Field

Summer 2019


Week 5: Wed, Jul 22 – Full Capstone Manuscript draft due to Capstone Advisor and Second Reader
Week 9: Mon, Aug 17 - Submit final capstone manuscript to Capstone Advisor and Second Reader for final review 
Week 9: Fri, Aug 21 – Master’s degree requests due – final cutoff. Check Grad School dates.
Week 10: Tues, Aug 25 –  Submit final Capstone manuscript, abstract, and license for UW Libraries/ResearchWorks archiving (UWNetID login required)

Faculty & Staff

Week 6: Wed, Jul 29 - Capstone Advisors submit feedback on first draft to advisees; Advisors and Second Reader provide progress status check to Graduate Programs.
Week 7: Wed, Aug 5 - Second Reader submits feedback to advisees/students
Week 10: Fri, Aug 21 – Capstone Advisor and Second Reader approvals due to Grad Office via Review Form
Week 10: Tues, Aug 25 – Grades due from instructors and advisors 
Week 10: Thurs, Aug 27 – Grad Office submits degree recommendations for graduation
