Is Advising & Orientation required?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Yes. A&O is required of all First-Year and Transfer Undergraduate Students. It is not required for Graduate, Exchange, Post-Baccalaureate, Readmitted, or Online Integrated Social Sciences students.

Failure to attend a full A&O session will result in a hold being placed on your course registration.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Is Advising & Orientation in-person?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

It depends:

For First-Year students admitted for Autumn Quarter, A&O includes one in-person day and one virtual day. For Transfer students and students admitted for Winter or Spring Quarter, A&O is a one-day virtual program.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Do I need to attend the full session?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Yes. Students must attend the full A&O session, if you do not attend in full a hold will be placed on your course registration.

If you will be late or need to leave early, please contact us directly to reschedule.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Can parents attend Advising & Orientation?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

No. Parents should not attend the student A&O sessions. Parents\/Guardians can attend a Parent and Family Orientation<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

When do I pay the New Student Enrollment & Orientation Fee (NSEOF)?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

The $425 NSEOF is paid as part the first quarter tuition.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What does the NSEOF cover?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

The NSEOF supports programs designed specifically to set students up for success. These programs include Advising & Orientation (A&O), Welcome Week, and the First-Year Coaching Program. For more information on this fee, please visit the NSEOF page.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What will I be doing at Advising & Orientation?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Just like when you start a new job, you will be required to attend some kind of orientation. It is at orientation where you will learn about the campus culture, where things are located around campus, what resources and services are available to you, and where you can get tips on what it takes to be successful at the University of Washington Bothell. This is your time to get acclimated to the campus before you are hit with classes and homework! It is also your time to meet new people. At orientation, you will connect with a cohort of other new students that will soon be the friends you will study with and hang-out with when you are not in class. You will also connect with an Orientation Leader that will be assigned to you for your first quarter at UW Bothell.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How do I change my A&O reservation?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

To change your A&O date, please visit the A&O registration website. Keep in mind that registration for each session closes two weeks before the session date.

If you’re within that two-week window, you’ll need to contact our office directly to be removed from your current session. Unfortunately, once a session is locked, we cannot add you to it.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Does an earlier A&O session mean better class selection?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Students who attend earlier A&O sessions typically have access to a wider selection of courses. However, no matter when you attend, we guarantee you’ll be able to register for a full-time schedule that includes courses fulfilling graduation requirements.

Advisers and current students will be available throughout the summer to help answer your questions and support you during registration.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

When do I register for classes?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

All new students will be able to register for classes after<\/span> completing their full A&O session. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How do I get my Husky Card?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Your Husky Card is your student identification card. To learn more about getting your Husky Card, please visit Husky Card Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Who is my Peer Coach and how do I contact them?<\/strong><\/summary>\n

All incoming First-Year students will select their Peer Coach when they register for A&O. You will meet your Peer Coach and get more information on how to contact them at A&O.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
