My name is Sarah Khawand. I am so very excited to welcome you to this new world that is college and UW Bothell!
I am a junior majoring in Biochemistry, and I'm a huge science nerd. I love anything and everything science and math which is good considering I’m planning on going into medical school to then work as a pediatric surgeon.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and moved up here when I was ten years old. As of now, I live at home in Sammamish, Washington which is great because I get to hang with my brothers. Being the first child in my family to go to college, I know how anxious one can get stepping into something so new. That’s why I’m here, to impart my knowledge to you and help make this transition as easy as possible!
On campus, I am a part of the Pre-Med club, the Bio club, and intramural sports. I spend so much of my time here studying, hanging with friends, working out, anything! This place has become a second home to me. Although when I’m not around, I spend my free time practicing martial arts, hanging out with friends and family, and playing music.
I chose to go to UW Bothell because, as the first one to go to college, I wasn’t exactly ready to go somewhere far yet. But also, I love how tight-knit the community is, and how when I walk across campus, I see so many familiar and friendly faces. The small class sizes are a big plus and its so easy to get to know your professors. This is a nice community because while still small, its growing and to be a part of that is awesome. It's so nice that I was able to become comfortable here so fast and I hope to be able to do the same with you all!
I’m so excited to meet all of you, and I am here anytime you need me for anything!
