The Office of Connected Learning

Office of Connected Learning- Connecting you to: research, community, the world, new skills

The Office of Connected Learning fosters high-impact experiences that contribute to innovative and influential teaching, learning, and research. A commitment to connected learning builds greater capacities for students, staff and faculty to connect theory to practice, exercise adaptive leadership skills across novel settings, and embrace the multiple contexts we all bring to our work. It recognizes that our ideas, discoveries, research, and institutional successes result from the relationships and human ecosystems that feed them.

UW Bothell is distinguished by its focus on connected learning and crossdisciplinary research, scholarship and creative practice.

Global Initiatives

Deepening global engagement locally and abroad. Connect to explore: adding a global component to a UW Bothell course, virtually or through study abroad, international fellowships, intercultural competence resources.

Community-Based Learning & Research

CBLR gives students the opportunity to have local hands-on work outside of the classroom setting, meaning you’re out there working with local communities and organizations and creating connections. Check out the current class offerings or how to get involved.

The UW Bothell Collaboratory is a creative environment with the equipment needed for curricular and co-curricular maker endeavors. Located on the first floor of Discovery Hall, the Collaboratory is a free resource for students, faculty, and staff. The lab is equipped with tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, a vinyl cutter, virtual reality equipment, sewing machines and more.

Undergraduate Research & Creative Practice

Research experiences and Creative Practices allow students to determine an area of interest, learn to balance collaborative and individual work, work with mentors or investigators, and jump start their careers. Explore the research database for opportunities, plan for summer projects, and find ways to get published - all before graduation!
