Altaras, who has more than 31 years in health care, was quoted as saying, &ldquo;Transforming health care is like rebuilding the plane while flying it, yet what we are rebuilding isn&rsquo;t a thing; it&rsquo;s people&rsquo;s health and lives. This is a very important and significant challenge.&rdquo;  Altaras rises to that challenge every day as a champion for positive change, a proponent for effective and reliable care, and as a leader who empowers other nurses.
