{"id":16506,"date":"2020-01-07T11:20:25","date_gmt":"2020-01-07T11:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/?p=16506"},"modified":"2023-06-08T22:02:48","modified_gmt":"2023-06-08T22:02:48","slug":"global-health-guatemala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/news\/2020\/01\/07\/global-health-guatemala","title":{"rendered":"Global Health Promotion in Guatemala"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/global-health-promotion.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28795\"><\/figure>\n\n<p>Global Health Promotion in Guatemala: Health Services Delivery in Resource-Poor Settings<\/p>\n\n<p>Summer Quarter Terms A &amp; B 2020: June 22-August 21 BHLTH 400 \/ BNURS 424 \/ BNURS 597 | 12 Credits<\/p>\n\n<p>This hybrid service-learning course, conducted in partnership with a community-based organization, Guatemala Village Health, will expose students to health systems, global development, global public health issues, and policy contexts in which health care is delivered in global under-resourced communites. <\/p>\n\n<p>Class Meetings: <br \/>\nFace to Face: UW Bothell, Up to 4 class meetings,<br \/>\nOne day\/week on Thursdays, 8:00am 5:20pm.<br \/>\nSpecific dates TBD. Remaining meetings online.<br \/>\nOnline Meetings: Specific dates TBD.<br \/>\nFieldwork: Daily in Guatemala. July 31- August 15.<\/p>\n\n<p>Academic Credits: 12 summer quarter<br \/>\ncredits. Open to all majors. No language<br \/>\nrequirements.
