{"id":7423,"date":"2017-10-18T15:39:06","date_gmt":"2017-10-18T15:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/?p=7423"},"modified":"2025-08-12T11:46:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T18:46:22","slug":"hep-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/undergraduate\/hep-minor\/hep-requirements","title":{"rendered":"Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prerequisite for declaring the minor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BHS 201 (Introduction to Public Health) \u2013 offered every quarter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Minor Curriculum<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are required to complete a total of 30-35 credits of coursework (shown below).&nbsp;Please note that some courses may have pre-requisites that students will need to include in their graduation plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BHS 300 (Intro to Research Methods)* \u2013 offered Autumn, Winter, and Spring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BHS 305 (Healthcare Systems, Policy, and Advocacy) \u2013 offered Autumn, Winter, and Spring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/237849742?p=1s\">B HLTH 435<\/a> (Foundations &amp; Principles of Health Education &amp; Communication) \u2013 offered Autumn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/260597405?p=1s\">B HLTH 436<\/a> (Intro to Management &amp; Leadership for Health Professionals) \u2013 offered Spring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/281994865?p=1s\">B HLTH 437<\/a> (Program Planning and Strategies for Health Promotion) \u2013 offered Winter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/319329077?p=1s\">B HLTH 438<\/a> (Program Evaluation for Health Education &amp; Promotion) \u2013 offered Spring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*BHS 300 requirement: BHS 300 can be substituted for an approved introductory research methods course. If you would like to take BHS 300 in an upcoming quarter, please note that BHS 210 (Community Health Promotion &amp; Communication) is a pre-\/co-requisite to BHS 300. Petitions are NOT reviewed during Summer quarters.
