{"id":6278,"date":"2014-09-15T15:32:18","date_gmt":"2014-09-15T15:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/?p=6278"},"modified":"2025-08-12T11:58:52","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T18:58:52","slug":"gnm","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/graduate\/mn\/admissions\/gnm","title":{"rendered":"Graduate Non-Matriculated"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Graduate Non-matriculated student is a post-baccalaureate student who wishes access to a limited number of graduate courses, but who has not been admitted by the Graduate School to a degree program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate non-matriculated (GNM) enrollment is beneficial if you are interested in professional development through specific classes or would like to experience the curriculum before formally applying to the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acceptance as a GNM student confers no guarantee or priority for later admission to the Graduate School for pursuit of the Master in Nursing program. Students will need permission from the program faculty to enroll in the core or elective coursework. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon petition, a maximum of 12 credits of coursework taken in GNM status may be applied to the Master of Nursing degree requirements, provided students meet the graduation requirements for the year they matriculate. Non-nursing degree holders, contact the graduate advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4-point scale (or equivalent measures of performance if a graduate of an institution with no grading system) for those credits earned at the institution awarding the bachelor\u2019s degree OR at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4 point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in English. Every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate\u00a0 English proficiency.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies\/3-2-graduate-school-english-language-proficiency-requirements\/\">Learn more about the proficiency requirements<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resume.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brief letter of intent that explains what courses are of interest to you and how they will support your career goals (no more than one page in length, using 12-point font).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agree&nbsp;to comport with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/students.nursing.uw.edu\/policies\/son-memoranda\/memo-31-essential-behaviors-for-gcpapn-dnp-masters-and-rn-bsn-students\/\">Essential Nursing Behaviors<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Active and unencumbered Washington State RN license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course registration <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving the instructor&#8217;s permission, register for courses on day one of the quarter.
