The Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies <\/strong>program invites community-based organizations to partner with our students. Through meaningful fieldwork experiences, students apply their knowledge and professional skills while contributing to health-related work in the community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In their final year students complete 40 hours of fieldwork over ten weeks with a community partner for university credit, under the supervision of an instructor. Projects may be stand-alone or part of a larger initiative and may be completed within one quarter or across multiple quarters. A fieldwork project provides students with meaningful hands-on experience while contributing their skills and perspectives to the important work of community-based organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project ideas are welcome year-round and do not need to be fully developed. Together, we\u2019ll create a real-world experience that benefits both the student and your organization.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Choose a starting quarter\u2014fall, winter, or spring. Projects may span multiple quarters, with each project including 40 hours over approximately 10 weeks. Once submitted, the Fieldwork Program Manager will reach out to discuss next steps. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
Provide a meaningful project for a student to explore, orient them to your organization and work, and designate a primary contact to provide guidance. Be available for regular communication and feedback throughout the quarter and provide an experience that supports the student\u2019s learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
A project that provides a student with an opportunity to apply health-related knowledge and professional skills, explore population\/public\/community health, collaborate with others, and develop their communication skills and that can be completed in person, hybrid, or remotely, depending on your needs and the nature of the work. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
