His project highlighted community nurse\u2019s qualities, key concepts and tools that can enhance confidence, competence, and retention among nurses transitioning to community practice. Through a qualitative descriptive study, Patrick interviewed 17 nurse leaders in the community health sector to identify strategies that facilitate nurses\u2019 successful assimilation into community nurse roles. She conducted a cross-sectional exploratory study to examine the barriers and facilitators to healthy eating behaviors among night-shift nurses. Her study consisted of two parts: (1) collecting data through a survey to gain insight into their daily lived experiences in the workplace, and (2) assessing the workplace environment to&nbsp;identify&nbsp;food&nbsp;purchasing&nbsp;options in vending machines. She collected survey data from 60 night-shift nurses and assessed the nutritional values of 606 food items available to them. Jennifer&#8217;s capstone aimed to promote a healthy work environment based on the AACN&#8217;s framework. Through these programs and resources, she wishes to promote a more diverse nursing workforce by inspiring the future generation and introducing them to the nursing career at an earlier age. Kate&#8217;s work is a step toward developing an awareness amongst policy makers of how and why they are writing policies and the ways in which divergent goals might result in policies that do not adequately serve their institutions. Nina&#8217;s capstone, &#8220;Addressing Discrimination and Bias in the Nursing Workforce: Developing Learner-Centered Education&#8221; explored the experiences and perceived capabilities of RN-to-BSN students in addressing workplace discrimination and bias to identify gaps in student knowledge and skills to be developed in the course curriculum. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-top\" style=\"grid-template-columns:30% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/01\/ivanka-vassileva.jpg\" alt=\"ivanka vassileva\" class=\"wp-image-29627 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/01\/ivanka-vassileva.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/01\/ivanka-vassileva-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">Ivanka Vassileva, 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ivanka utilized her fieldwork to make necessary changes to the new Nurse-Driven Protocol to promote quality of care and patient safety and decrease in hospital-acquired CAUTI.
