Call for Nominations
2019 Outstanding Alumni Award
The School of Nursing and Health Studies wishes to recognize each year alumni who have distinguished themselves in their career and their service to the community. The award will be presented at the SNHS "Illumination" Reception on May 30, 2019.
Criteria:
- Nominee must be a graduate of the BSN, MN or HS program;
- Nominee has demonstrated a significant contribution to advancing the health of individuals or communities;
- Nominee has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in leadership, education or practice roles;
- Nominee has exemplified the vision and values of the School.

The health of individuals, communities and the globe are inextricable. Whether as a nurse, a global health worker or patient, understanding one’s position and contributions to a healthier world is the goal of health literacy. A social justice approach to health literacy requires the critical thinking, writing and community engagement skills that are central to the mission of UW Bothell. The interdisciplinary faculty in the School of Nursing and Health Studies create unique educational approaches grounded in inclusive learning environments that are accessible, oriented to life-long learning and are based on the highest professional standards.
