Two faculty members in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences led their students in promoting the census in the community and learning they have the ability to impact others.
Justin Gill, an award-winning nurse who completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Yale in May, had a number of places where he could consider teaching. He chose the University of Washington Bothell.
UW Bothell invites a number of lawmakers each year to speak to classes. For state legislators such as Rep. Roger Goodman, speaking is a two-way street. They share their insights, and they learn something from students in return.
Many of the students entering the UW Bothell Master of Arts in policy studies (MAPS) program already share a network of friendships and experiences in congressional offices that make them stand out. They expect the MAPS degree will help move them into careers where they can have an even greater impact.
