The University of Washington Bothell partners many students with organizations for project-based learning. Disciplines such as nursing, education and environmental sciences collaborate with nonprofits, industry and local governments, many in the Everett area. Making the connections is the job of UW Bothell’s Office of Community-Based Learning and Research.

Grads become community partners

Some University of Washington Bothell alumni become community partners. Nora Karena, master’s in cultural studies (MACS ’14), is now director of housing services for YWCA in Snohomish County. Mike Irons, master’s in public policy program (MAPS ’13), is programs manager for Snohomish County Juvenile Court in Everett.
