All spring quarter classes at UW Bothell classes will be held remotely. In compliance with state mandate, the campus is on restricted operations. Over the next three summers, University of Washington Bothell students will be traveling to Germany to develop crowdsensing technology at the University of Bamberg, which conducts smart city research in the Bavarian city.
The Global Scholars program helps find financial assistance to study abroad for students who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity. A dozen students in the first cohort in 2019 traveled to a half-dozen countries.
In a study abroad tour of Thailand and Cambodia, UW Bothell business students learned about corporate social responsibility in developing countries and gained a new perspective on their careers.
Urban geographer Jin-Kyu Jung co-led a study abroad trip to South Korea to explore what urban residents think of using information and communication technologies to improve transportation, utilities and other city services.
With a Gilman scholarship, Heather Brekhus studied abroad in India where she learned about business relationships and lessons about herself that the Educational Studies major can apply when she becomes a teacher.
