A horror class at the University of Washington Bothell is causing excitement around the school. Gavin Doyle’s course, Dead Things & The Art of Fear in the Written and Spoken Word, has become a popular Discovery Core class for first-year students.

A University of Washington Bothell founding faculty member in the School of Educational Studies, Cherry A. McGee Banks, is retiring at the end of the school year. Banks known internationally for expertise in multicultural education.

UW Bothell this year launched two off-campus speaker series in which professors share their expertise with the community in free, public presentations: Pub Night Talks and Campus Research Connections.

More than 1,000 students contacted potential employers Oct. 17 during two career fairs — the Tech & Engineering Fair and the All-Industries Career Fair —  at the University of Washington Bothell, making it the biggest single-day employer event the University has ever hosted. 

Pavel Krivopustov is on track to graduate in June with a degree in computer science and software engineering, and says it would not have been possible without the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship.
