A new peer-review journal for University of Washington Bothell students called The CROW is about to take flight. The Campus Research and Observational Writings journal is a place to publish research papers and proposals, literature reviews and editorials. The final deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 1, at publish@uw.edu

With the support of a Mary Gates Scholarship, Kelsey Bolinger has been able to devote more time pursuing her project of interest on the depiction of race and gender in popular magazines

First-year UW Bothell STEM students recorded their own myth-busting videos and presented them on a big Imax screen at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. The students also engaged the center’s Discovery Corps of high school interns in thinking about the transition to college.

Transgender women of color should be at the center of movements for social justice, says Kari Lerum, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of IAS. Lerum presents at the Research in Progress seminar Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m. at LB1-205. 

Of the many University of Washington Bothell students from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds, some learned about the university from recruiting events such as Friday’s RAIN at Mobius Hall.
