Pavel Krivopustov is on track to graduate in June with a degree in computer science and software engineering, and says it would not have been possible without the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship.

The University of Washington Bothell received a $115,000 scholarship grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation to help increase the number of students who succeed at becoming the first in their families to graduate on time from a four-year college.

About 200 people attended a fundraiser in Mukilteo, Washington, that brought in nearly $41,000 for the Anna Bui World of Hope Scholarship at the University of Washington Bothell. With previous donations, the endowment fund now has nearly $59,000 to support study abroad experiences for other students in memory of 19-year-old Bui who was killed last summer shortly after traveling in Europe for three weeks.

Since graduating from the University of Washington Bothell, Chris Molitor (business administration, marketing ’07), has run a website template business. Now he’s working on a “passion project,” a crowdfunding website for students called Fullride.me.

One of the longest running courses at the University of Washington Bothell – the annual weeklong human rights seminar in Washington, D.C. – is even better thanks to alumni who experienced the trip and now support its impact.
