\nUniversity of Washington Bothell’s Husky Herald newspaper, Clamor literary journal and UWave radio are all produced and edited by students with faculty advice and distributed free to the campus community.<\/p>\n\n

Clamor <\/a>is UW Bothell’s annual literary and arts journal, representing the best creative practices in literary, visual and media arts from across our campus.<\/p>\n\n

“It’s one of the best learning experiences I’ve ever had,” said Acacia Thorng, a student contributor for Clamor and media and communications studies student (’17). <\/p>\n\n

Clamor gives students the opportunity to be published, which can be a huge milestone for an up and coming artist, said Thorng. <\/p>\n\n

“I learned about what it takes to publish something in print and how to collaborate with people,” Thorng said.<\/p>\n\n

UWave Radio<\/a> is the campus-based community station, a hub for underrepresented voices and a catalyst for social justice. It is led by students who are committed to building community and creating opportunities for professional development.<\/p>\n\n

"UWave Radio gives students on campus the chance to work in a live studio. There's no better learning than actually getting hands-on experience,” said Douglas Rowe, member of UWave Radio and media and communications studies student (’17). <\/p>\n\n

All of the shows are live online.<\/p>\n\n

“We're not on the radio waves, but we are on the Internet. It's kind of cool because people can listen to us, even if they're out of the state,” said Rowe. <\/p>\n\n

Husky Herald<\/a> is produced online and printed once or twice a quarter. Dedicated to the student body, it provides stories that capture UW Bothell’s vibrant community and character. <\/p>\n\n

"We're all about innovation. If you have an idea about something, do not be afraid to ask to write a story about it,” said Jalen Howard, a designated officer of Husky Herald and media and communications studies student (’17). <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
