\n\tStudents at the University of Washington Bothell consistently display a high level of commitment to their academic pursuits, and frequently go on to greater achievements in academic and professional fields. It was in the spirit of fostering this type of ambition and work ethic that the Founders Fellowship was created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tCongratulations to the following students who have been awarded the 2013-2014 Founders Fellowship for their research:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tTaylor Frazier, Law, Economics & Public Policy<\/span>Mentor: Shauna Carlisle \n\tKeith Rawson, Computing & Software Systems<\/span>Mentor: Wooyoung Kim \n\tJiansheng (Jarvis) Xu, Business Administration<\/span>Mentor: Deanna Kennedy \n\tColin Feng, Biology<\/span>Mentor: Kristina Hillesland \n\tTiarra Fentress, Pre-Major IAS<\/span>Mentor: Louise Spiegler \n\t\u201cWhile our students have a good track record of being awarded for their academic and creative achievements, we are especially excited to have our own way of supporting our students,\u201d explains Carolyn Brennan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\tClarrie Ng, University of Washington Bothell graduate and former Founders Fellowship awardee says the support went a long way, \u201cThe Founders Fellowship has allowed me to explore much more depth into my research,\u201d she says. \u201cIt was also the recognition and trust given to me that allowed me to continue pursuing my research in graduate school.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\tThe fully vested endowment provides undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in independent research across disciplines. The Founders Fellowship lives on, enabling students to participate in academic inquiry, enhance the reputation of the university, contribute to our region\u2019s economic vitality, and become better leaders and global citizens.
