\n\tGrowing up in the Appalachian Mountains, Heather Felix never thought she could achieve her dream of a graduate degree in occupational therapy with the goal of working with vulnerable populations. Thanks to a scholarship from the UW Bothell Alumni Student Support Endowed Fund, Heather is on her way to achieving that dream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tFinancial support has allowed Heather to concentrate on the leading-edge student experience at UW Bothell, both in and out of the classroom. As a student, she is pursuing two majors: Society, Ethics, and Human Behavior and a B.A. degree in Health Studies. She has her hands full as she successfully balances challenging academics, her work as a resident advisor, and other campus activities. Heather is also making an impact through serving the community, with 218 volunteer hours and counting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tSince 2009, the UW Bothell Alumni Council has helped 15 students and raised $100,000 through year-round fundraising. The biggest and most exciting fundraiser is the annual Husky 5K Run\/Walk which brings hundreds of alumni and UW Bothell community back to the campus. The 5K just celebrated its 10th year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
