BOTHELL, Wash. – Commencement 2011 was a momentous occasion for the graduating students of the University of Washington Bothell, and marked a milestone in the university’s history as the school awarded its 10,000th degree to student Hillary U.
U graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on culture, literature, and the arts. While studying at UW Bothell, U also found time to work at the university’s writing center and as a student assistant in the office of advancement and external relations.
“I’m so grateful for all the opportunities I had at UW Bothell,” says U. “It was an excellent learning environment and I’m proud to be the recipient of the 10,000th degree.”
An exemplary student, U was involved in numerous extracurricular activities. Of note, she served as a cabinet member in the National Youth Advisory Cabinet for Campfire USA and served as president of the Family Career Community Leaders of America. U now works for the University of Washington as an advancement services officer in regional giving.
