BOTHELL, Wash. – The University of Washington Bothell MBA Programs announce Chris Boody as the 2010 Distinguished MBA Alumnus of the Year.

Sandeep Krishnamurthy, Director of the UW Bothell Business Program, says, “Chris is a model corporate citizen. In addition to his ‘day job’, Chris has been very active with Enterprise Ireland- a group that is working to enhance Irish companies lead, innovate and grow.”

Boody said, “I am absolutely delighted and honored to receive the first Distinguished MBA Alumnus award from the University of Washington Bothell. I have had the opportunity to work on many exciting activities in my career with AT&T Mobility since my graduation from the UW Bothell master's program 10 years ago. Highlights include the Democratic National Committee Text Messaging campaign for President-elect Obama during his nomination in Denver, several seasons of American Idol, and watching a meager wireless data technology grow into a multi-billion dollar line of business. I have also greatly enjoyed my work with Enterprise Ireland.”

As for his advice to the UW Bothell MBA Class of 2010, Boody says, “My advice to the 2010 MBA class is to pass on a simple phrase which has served to guide my career: Will and Skill. Skill is the culmination of job experiences, education, victories and defeats. Will is simply the ability to overcome obstacles and pursue objectives with relentless tenacity. Skill will open doors for you and provide opportunities, but only through the combination of Will and Skill can you maximize your full potential.”

UW Bothell Technology and Innovation Professor Paul Collins says, “If I ever had ‘favorite students,’ Chris would be among them. He was intellectually curious, motivated, prepared, a team player and an all around nice guy.  Plus, he just seemed to ‘get’ the innovation thing.”

Boody, a Woodinville resident, earned his Master of Management degree from the University of Washington Bothell in 2000. (The Master of Management Program has since transformed into the Technology and Leadership MBA Programs.)

The Technology MBA-Bothell and Leadership MBA-Bellevue are the two 22-month evening MBA Programs offered by the UW Bothell for working professionals.
