By writing thank you notes to health care workers, students at UW Bothell started a ripple of joy that reached nurses and aides at EvergreenHealth, giving them a reason to smile even in the midst of the latest wave of the pandemic.

Christian Dunham, STEM graduate student, Green Beret, veteran and volunteer with Task Force Pineapple, works to get Afghan refugees safely out of Afghanistan and to the states. In so doing, he is paying forward a great sacrifice made by one of his heroes.

University of Washington Bothell prepares students to enter the workforce. In a course taught by Rafael Delgado, alumna Mari McMenamin was more than just prepared to start a career; the class was the reason she was hired for her dream job.

The University of Washington Bothell welcomed its second-largest class of incoming students last month. Chancellor Kristin Esterberg said the strong return to in-person learning demonstrates the strength of UW Bothell’s programs and the importance of higher education for our students and for our community.

Djelli Berisha is the first-ever UW Bothell student to serve on the University of Washington board of regents. A senior in STEM, he writes about his Albanian heritage, moving from fear to determination and the transformative power of higher education.
